Congratulations to Scott Seegmiller, Las Vegas’ CFO of the Year for real estate and construction! Scott recently received the distinction at an awards program hosted by the Las Vegas chapter of FEI (Financial Executives International) and Vegas Inc magazine.  Scott has worked in accounting throughout his 27-year property management career.

Check out the Vegas Inc article on the awards program and all the winners.

Scott is considered one of the property management industry’s leading minds in developing programs to increase efficiency and lower redundancies. Prior to his current roles, he was a partner in one of the Top 50 largest property management firms in the country. He has continued bringing his background in accounting to property management and is a constant learner. He speaks often at trade association meetings on increasing efficiencies in property management accounting. He also reviews new software for a national property management magazine.

Scott founded Ascent Multifamily Accounting in 2016, which is a completely paperless company that provides all accounting services for multifamily properties. The company is expected to double its revenues in 2017.

FEI found Scott to be Southern Nevada’s best CFO in the real estate and construction industries for a variety of reasons:

Scott receives award from NBC's Dana Wagner and FEI's Las Vegas President, Gary Vecchiarelli at the Silverton Hotel in Las Vegas.

Industry Leader

Proper document organization, accounting and file management are the keystones to a profitable property. Scott is revolutionizing the property management industry by creating smart and efficient ways for property managers and owners to do business.

He personally developed Ascent’s outsourced accounting program, which is a completely paperless system that provides all accounting services for multi-family properties.

Team Approach

Scott motivates his staff to find the best and most efficient way to do business for their clients, and is known as an innovator in the field of outsourced accounting services.

His hands-on approach has given him some of the highest retention rates in the industry. Some of his key staff members have worked with him for more than 20 years. His colleagues have worked hard alongside Scott to create some of the best accounting processes and technology available in the multifamily industry.

Planning and Budgeting

Scott’s development of property budgeting models has become imperative to saving time and effort for Ascent’s clients.

Cost savings are key for owners and management firms when it comes to accounting. Scott’s innovative services and real-time reporting capabilities have helped Ascent’s clients save tens of thousands-up to millions-every year in reduced costs for staffing, office space and technology related to their accounting functions. His and his staff’s long-term knowledge of the processes and procedures in multifamily accounting are utilized by companies that previously needed up to 20 staff members to handle and manage accounting functions.

Control and Reporting

Scott’s systems save his clients significant money on audits. Because all of the accounting data for each of his clients’ properties is stored online in a cloud-based system, auditors are able to login and never need to come onsite a property.

Social Responsibility

Scott is a sought-after consultant to help property management firms across the country become more efficient and utilize technology to help them save time and money. He helps them organize their data and filing systems, then helps them go paperless so data can be accessed in real time from any location. This is especially helpful for companies that manage properties in multiple states. Scott is so good at what he does, that the industry’s leading software company, RealPage, refers him to their own clients for assistance.

Scott is also a committed member of the Southern Nevada community. He currently serves as the chairman of the City of Henderson Bicycle Advisory Committee and is proud to have helped Henderson receive national awards for becoming a bicycle friendly community.

Innovation

In multifamily accounting, there is no one more knowledgeable or passionate than Scott. He enjoys learning and teaching others how to create and manage the most efficient systems for his clients, whether they own 300 or 10,000 units. He is versed in every area of accounting and carefully assesses each task to make sure it is the most efficient it can be. He collaborates with his team on every client, which makes them as passionate about their work as he has always been.

For these reasons and many more, we are so proud to congratulate Scott on his recognition as a CFO of the Year!

How may we help?

Ok. How many units?

And how many properties?

What software do you use?

How may we get in touch?

Thank you!

We’ll look forward to speaking with you and will be in touch shortly.
